Users review: Jack Nicholson is a great actor. No, it is not a great actor, actor spectacular. This is a film of very early in his career, and that is for some other actors of the film, which then had a long, great careers too, including Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd and Brad Dourif. The film has some unforgettable moments ... who can forget Louise Fletchers icy gaze, Jack Nicholson smart-aleck remarks or Will Sampson impressive performance almost completely silent? The film portrays the terrible truth about how patients treated in mental institutions back then, and tells the story of someone who desperately wanted to break, to rebel, to change it, because he himself and for others. I was forced by this film from the first frame. I never took my eyes, and I will definitely think about this movie for a while. I thought it was great the way one of the first frames appear institution as something much more like a prison than a hospital. Milo? Forman did a great job of making a very sharp contrast to the viewer. The film is very moving and truly beautiful cinematic experience. Each actor gives a stellar performance, every single character is perfectly written, every single line, every single frame is absolutely perfect. I wouldnt change anything in this film. It has great rhythm, you'll never lose interest, but it never seems to be running to get through this, either. Its just perfect. I have not read the original book, but if I ever come across it, I can control. I just saw this movie once, but I do not see many times in the years to come. I recommend this wonderful piece of great film for anyone who has at least a small interest in the genre drama, or a fan of any of the actors, as they all are in their absolute prime in this film. 10/10
